Your month-end close is a careful study of something already dead. By the time the report lands on day 35, the receivables have aged, the margin has slipped, the customer has drifted — and there’s nothing left to do but absorb it. The opposite of a post-mortem isn’t a faster report. It’s knowing on day 3, while you can still act.
